Dolores Hidalgo Cuna de la Independencia Nacional, Guanajuato, Mexico

This small town is famous for being the birth place of the Mexican Revolution. It all started when Father Miguel Hidalgo made his famous cry for independence that is celebrated every September 16. Here is a statue of him:

The have such large chicharrĂ³n, or pork rind, that it was almost as tall as my friend.

They are also famous for their outrageous ice cream flavors:
shrimp, corn, avocado, and many others.

Here I am sampling one of the unique flavors. It wasn't half bad.
